This is such a lightweight and compact cot. It was easy to assemble and breakdown and was also comfortable to lay on. I haven't taken it camping yet but I look forward to sleeping on it on an upcoming trip.
I'm so glad I spent the money on this cot instead of using just a roll of foam on my first camping trip! I just used my sleeping bag on top of it and it felt like sleeping in my bed at home and it almost fits in a glove box when disassembled! Made the experience so much enjoyable for three nights. It's very stable with its five bars spread across the strong fabric. My only complaint is that the legs require some strength to bend into place rather than using a quick-release mechanism like some other cots but I was able to do it consistently. Highly recommend camping!
I'm a big guy, and I'm always looking for things that will hold up to my use. I saw this cot listed, and it claimed a weight rating of 330 lbs. I'm not that heavy, but I'm not that far... I'm around 285lbs. I'd been wanting to try a cot style of camping under a tarp, and when I saw this cot pop up, I had to grab it. It arrived today, and I must say that I'm impressed.I chose the mesh black style, expecting that I'd use this in the summer, and wanted the airflow. Upon seeing it unpacked, I was a bit skeptical. While the aluminum seemed very strong, I was worried about the mesh cloth holding me. I began assembly and hoped...I'm ecstatic to report that it held me with ZERO issues. Not only did it hold me, but it was very comfortable. I'm not sure if all of the other fabric options are the same, but this mesh had a bit of "give" to it and allowed me to really sink in. I'm a side sleeper, so this made for a very comfortable lie. There's even the slightest bit of springiness to it, almost like a hammock would give. It was very nice. Even with my shoulder pressing in, I had about a fist worth (3-4") of clearance under me between my shoulder and the ground. I originally considered using a sleeping pad to lie on this cot, but I'm now questioning if that's even necessary. I'll likely end up trying with and without, just to see which one makes me pass out harder, haha. With a pad, the distance you'd sink toward the ground would be of no concern at all.
I expected this to feel like a hard mattress since it is rated to hold up to 300 lbs, but with my sleeping pad and sleeping bag, I was very comfortable - and not sleeping on the ground (big win!). First, the WARMOUNTS Ultralight Compact Camping Cot is definitely compact, light, and very easy to set up. The compact and light aspects make this easy to carry with my pack if we are hiking to a site. We’ve had old-school cots that get left in the truck because carrying those on a hike and then (worst part) carrying them back is just out of the question. This cot comes in a storage bag with a strap making it simple to tie to a pack or slip over your shoulder. Fellow campers were jealous - after being amazed at what came out of that bag. I don’t like sleeping on the ground, so for me, this keeps me going on the overnight hikes that I might otherwise opt out of.
Good light weight cot! This goes together fairly quickly and easily--if you follow common sense instead of the instructions. And, it is pretty comfortable to sleep on. The tensioning system keeps this taut enough that there are no sag spots in it. It is quite lightweight and it breaks down nicely; it even fits in the included storage bag without spending twenty minutes trying to figure out how they first got it in there. Just be aware this cot sits quite low to the ground.
