This pair of chafing dishes makes my old silver set seem like flimsy foil pans. I was truly impressed by their quality and appearance. They add a touch of elegance to any environment.
In addition to their aesthetic appeal, they function excellently. I had both a hot and a cold dish, so I filled one with water and the other with ice, and everything worked perfectly. I appreciate the glass top, which allows guests to see the dishes below without needing to lift each lid or me having to label them.
Cleaning up was simple, even though I washed both by hand. I was pleased that the food didnt stick to the pan. Since these performed so well for me, I plan to buy two more for larger gatherings. For now, I am very satisfied with these and would definitely recommend them.
This is a complete set that includes the water pan, food pan, lid and fuel holders that are easy to store and transport when needed. The 5 quart capacity offers ample capacity for serving a large size group at home. The white design adds a touch of uniqueness and elegance to the setup, while providing warm food to the family.
I have been experimenting with chafing dishes for years in my home kitchen. I bought some huge commercial ones which are heavy and hard to store and found them not very suitable for most home gatherings. They were too big, hard for guests to handle (where do you put the lid when you are serving yourself?) and obnoxious to clean. We wound up using them for very large gatherings--if then.
These are more compact, lighter in weight and simpler to clean and store. They are stainless coated with a clean looking white powder coat which seems durable. They heat up quicker because they can use the larger size sterno and they are smaller. A bracket on the side holds the glass lid for you while you serve--a nice touch.
This company makes these round chafers in various styles and finishes. These are white with a tempered glass lid. In actual use, the glass will become completely fogged as the food heats so the benefits of transparency are not quite as valuable as you might think. Still, you can get a pretty good idea of what's inside even on the foggiest nights.
Some assembly is required--but it isn't very challenging to do and once assembled, most of the parts stack so putting the dishes away is not challenging either.
Downsides? A few. Because they are not rectangular, quarter and half size pans (the aluminum ones that catered food usually gets delivered in) can not be simply plunked into these round dishes--you need to scoop or serve the food into the chafer.
They are not commercial quality in that they will dent and deform with abuse or excessive gravity (by which I mean 'being dropped on the concrete floor.') The powder coating on the metal is attractive but do NOT take steel wool to it to remove burnt food.
For me, the chafers add a pro touch to my parties and work better for me than the jumbo commercial ones. Food stays hot and moist and looks appetizing.
I bought these chafing dishes for the holidays and I'm really excited to put them to use. They look elegant and will be great for keeping dishes warm. The lids fit well and the food pans slide in smoothly without hassle. The material feels sturdy and easy to clean afterward. I can't wait to see them in action when guests arrive. Overall these chafing dishes are classy, functional, and perfect for holiday entertaining.
They are beautiful
